The deepening understanding of the microclimate and the ground beneath the vines has afforded Larkmead the unique opportunity to create a broad and exciting portfolio of wines. In the cellar, the wines are taken on their own terms. If the wines are treated differently it is not because of their quality potential but due to the natural phenomenon of terroir.
“The wines at Larkmead have always beautifully showcased a sense of time and place. Focusing our continued efforts to convert to organic and sustainable farming, we are afforded the highest quality grapes which allow us to make wines with incredible distinction and balance.”
-Avery Heelan, Winemaker
THE LARKMEAD WINES
These wines represent the pinnacle of Larkmead’s terroir. They are each hewn from a single parcel of vines with its own unique soil profile, a distinction apparent in the wines.
THE VINEYARD WINES
These engaging wines are carefully assembled from all parts of the property, and represent different interpretations of the total voice of the estate.
THE CELLAR LIBRARY
Each year, our winemaking team tastes nearly every wine Larkmead has ever produced. Our goal is to assess and revise drinking windows and provide updated tasting notes for our staff and collectors alike. These notes were last updated in February 2020.
1 Fruit sampling is vital when making harvest decisions.
2 The morning fog burns off right on schedule.
3 Small lot fermenters allow us to capture the unique terroir of each vineyard parcel.
