2006 Larkmead Vineyards Tocai Friulano, Napa Valley

This is our first bottling from the small block of ancient Tocai vines planted in 1893 in the heart of the Larkmead estate. A native of North-East Italy, the vines naturally produce an aperitif style, yet the wine possesses the weight and complexity to be a great summer food accompaniment.

Winemaker Notes

"Light gold/green color. Vibrant aromas of lime blossom, pear and wild flowers blend with an intriguing edge of fennel and fresh herbs. Tropical fruits dominate the entry showing lovely upfront richness then evolve to waxy apple and delicate mineral flavors. The finish is earthy and savory with plenty of citrus freshness. Drink on release or within two years of the harvest date. Serve at no cooler than 50 degrees to allow the wine's full character to emerge."
