"Deep ruby red/purple color. Intense aromatics of sweet black cherry, cassis and violets broaden to show floral perfume notes, dark cocoa powder and complex minerals. The palate features an explosive core of sweet black fruits and an elegant yet luscious mouth feel which deepens and concentrates with aeration. The youthful chewy tannins provide balance and length and the wine finishes with great inner-mouth purity.
A classic, elegant vintage in a similar vein to our 2001 Estate Cabernet, the wine features a complex array of cool climate aromas and flavors as befits this long cool growing season. The overriding sense of sleek minerality and 'Larkmead purity' provide an element of finesse and approachability that is currently hard to resist, yet all the components are present for a decade of positive bottledevelopment."

"The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate exhibits a deep ruby/purple color, a sweet nose of floral-infused black currants and cherries, some smoke and graphite notes, outstanding density, ripeness, and overall harmony. Still backward and austere in the finish, this is a Medoc look-alike that should drink handsomely between 2010 and 2020+."
