2009 Sauvignon Blanc Soiree
On April 26, 2009 we held a celebration for our Sauvignon Blanc. Around one hundred guests joined winery owners Cam and Kate Solari Baker along with Winemaker Andy Smith, and Winery Manager Colin MacPhail.
Chef Adam Goldring prepared onion foccacia, spring minestrone soup, a tallagio chesse board and various sausages which paired well with the first three vintages of Sauvignon Blanc here at Larkmead - 2005, 2006 & 2007. It was a great chance to taste each vintage and discover the similarities and differences due to the particular vintage's growing season or winemaking regimen.
Larkmead Sauvignon Blanc is really beginning to hit its stride with three vintages under our belt. The winemaking team recently visited Bordeaux and is very enthusiastic about crafting a Sauvignon Blanc reminiscent of a fine white Bordeaux. The fourth vintage, 2008, will be bottled in July.
